Philosophical contentment. I'm jealous.

I've been wondering where you are. How did your protest against the naked substation work out?

Oh, the protest is ongoing. I think we achieved a better design outcome, but the hardcore folks still think they can turn back the tide and move the station. Protest today at 11.

I am reading! I am reading!

Envious that you feel you'll be able to retire. I do hope you come back to Canada for the purely selfish reason that I might then see you once in a while.

Awwww, thanks NK. I think a return to Canada is definitely in the cards. I don't think we can completely give up work, just not both work ft.

Welcome back. Was only thinking of you yesterday whilst at a True Blood convention - Sam Trammell was supposed to be there, cancelled at the last minute but Charlaine Harris was there - very interesting listening to her, a very lovely Southern lady.

Jake's moved to Brisbane to pursue his studies - after 25 years it is very strange not to have him around, and I too miss him dreadfully.

Hope you stay around.

Awww, I missed you,Deb. We should talk about many things, including being empty nesters.

Was the convention in Sydney? I'm still enjoying the show, but I can't be stuffed with the latest book.

At least my bird is still in the same nation, although the nest still seems just as empty.

The convention was in Sydney yesterday and Melbourne today - other guests (to compensate for no Sam Merlotte) were Rene (from Season 1) and Hadley - can't remember their real names. Rene was mostly stonkered by the time autographs were being done - according to my friend who bought the tickets (a birthday gift from last year that was postponed due to a no show of Sam, Lafayette and Alcide ... sigh). Must admit I never got into the books. Enjoying this season more than last.

Will update on my life after I finish an essay on genre, narrative and Veronica Mars tomorrow.
