Hi,

I stopped off on the way home from seeing Hamlet at RSC in Stratford on Friday to see Sheffield & Combi on Saturday but I just had to say that although I went to see Combi I left with Uberbyte songs in my head.

Very impressed and very refreshing (especially the way you and the drummers got down!). I was getting a bit jaded after all the VNV type bands emerged in the late 90's but you guys were different. I was still smiling even though I had a 6hr drive back to sunny Scotland after the gig.

I hope you guys play again and i'll spread the word up here.

Peace, Love & Pitbulls

Sheona

Hehe, thank you so much! It's an immense amount of fun playing shows (you could probably tell!), and it's a huge relief to know people in the audience enjoyed it too!

Is this the Hamlet that Tennant is starring in? I'd be fascinated to see that.. I've been so impressed at the depth and gravitas he's brought to the Dr Who role, and I keep thinking "he'd do amazing on stage" (I believe he is a stage actor by training? Yes? No?)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that show too - nothing like a bit of contrast in your entertainment :) Bummer on the timing though, since we actually played Edinburgh on that Friday, when you were so far away...

But thank you again, and I'm really hoping we'll be back up in Scotland sometime

Yeah it was the pre shows that they had on at the RSC before the official opening on the Monday. I was a wee bit unsure of how he would play it but it was very similar to the role he played in Takin Over the Asylum where he played the Bi Polar patient Campbell. I hadn't been to Stratford before so was pleasantly surprised when I found out the cast used the aisles to walk about in (especially as I was in an aisle seat!!!!!). I turned around at one point to see David behind me being gaffa tapped to a chair! He smiled and winked before they taped his mouth.

It was a great show. Ophelia was painful to watch (in a good way) and Polonius was very funny in a subtle way. Made me realise that we don't have as much good theatre up here as we should.

It was a contrast but hey it's good to have some noise and dance beats after a mental workout like 3 and a half hours of Shakespeare. All about balance ;)

Edinburgh's great and I would have definately popped through. Here's hoping for next time.
