Depending on what you're using them in you might want to consider something like Sanyo Enerloops. They're $11 per 4-pack but they actually hold a charge when not in use so they're worth a damn in game controllers and remotes. They're also about 2000mAh so they'd last a while in a digital camera.

Well I'm looking for them for the camera, because I burn trough them pretty fast futzing around. That may be a good option.
