An entry!!!

And yeah, it is ridiculous how people can't deal with snow here anymore. Stupid communities saving money on grit and salt because we never get snow here anyway. ;p

And the increase of electronics on trains that freezes and makes them come to a halt is also not so good. Maybe next time snow strikes, they should go back to steam engines. ;)

But hey, you've had a very memorable New Year's.

I personally opted to leave early to get a cab and not have to wait for one until 5 in the morning or so. I like getting together with friends, but I don't have this "must be around people for midnight" feeling most people have. I'd rather get home safe and sound and dry and such.

Yep, the ongoing technologizing of transportation definitely has its disadvantages *sighs*. Whether it's a warm Euro tunnel and condensation or the Deutsch Bahn and frozen over "hardware", it's simply embarrassing how "progress" makes formerly rather dependable things more difficult or even impossible.

*shakeshead*

But well. As you said, at least I got an unforgettable New Year's out of it.

And hopefully, the Deutsche Bahn will be very wise for once and give me my money back. I'm thinking informing BILD if they don't ;o).

Same with cars. Amazing how much trouble my colleagues had these days. And if one tiny electric part doesn't work, the whole car won't work. At least when I was a kid my Dad could get a jumpstart from another car when it was so cold his car would not start.

I keep my fingers crossed for the ticket refund.
