That would make a truly spectacular pair of socks. Is that what Jaywalkers are?

I'm very glad you had the chance to get in some sacred space time. I know in my heart that any city has its spaces, and it took me so long to find Atlanta's, even with time to look.

I think of your porch as sacred space. and the rest of your house as just special.

Aww, thank you. As you know, we cultivate that feeling in our home. But there's nothing like being outdoors for us pagan heretics!

And yeah! Jaywalkers are socks, with an interesting chevron shaping that I thought might really show off the contrasts in the colorway. I guess I'm on the right track!

what to knit... anonymous January 31 2008, 04:10:15 UTC
The scones do look deelish, as does all your food. As for what to knit, check out the March 2008 Creative Knitting. They've got a nifty pattern for a scarf knit in short rows, that creates triangles of alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette with a garter border. I'm making it now, having finally taught myself short rows! It would probably be a mindless knit for you, but it's still a little challenging for me. Of course, I've probably made it more challenging by insisting on doing it in combination style knitting, b/c combiknitting means having to decide whether to knit the front leg or the back leg of my stitches. But the actual stitch movement itself is so much easier for a lefty that it makes up for all the calculating and occasional tinking.

Love the colorway, and the name of it...hearing the song in my head makes me smile :-).

This weekend I'm going to make cherry-ginger scones. YUM.

I'll look into that pattern. I need to pick up that issue anyway.

The same thing happened to me, I heard the song and it made me buy the yarn.:-)

LOL. It is a nice, soothing blue. And I appreciate the book rec. It's extremely pertinent at the moment. You are SO right, it's not easy to stay with your emotions, especially when they hurt! I am trying to remember how to let them flow through me, instead of bracing myself against them. Sigh.
