Just some idiot pawn shop man. He's slimier than camel spit and trickier than an eel. Sells his things cheap, promising they're good and then they fall apart on you.

It's really not too much trouble I just have to start saving change again to get a proper knife but I would have preferred not to waste my money on such a fickle item.
