Title: Don't Be a Scrooge
Prompt: Tomoeda Elementary Class 4-2 (or 5-2, up to you) is having a Christmas Party. What happens?
Disclaimer: Cardcaptor Sakura belongs to CLAMP.
Rating: G
Summary: The class has a play to raise money for the Christmas party, and once again Syaoran is unhappy with his part. Still, Sakura thinks he's done well...
Notes: I stretched the prompt a bit, since she said I could be creative. I guess this could be seen as a missing episode, or an alternative episode to the second Christmas episode, but I really wanted to include Eriol-- he made the fic for me. I hope you like this, claire_chan.... Merry Christmas!
"My old employer! That man knew how to keep Christmas!" Takashi Scrooge exclaimed, and the Ghost of Christmas Past nodded.
"Watch," she said.
A surprisingly flat-chested beauty wearing the same wig "she" had wore the year before sauntered uncomfortably up to a younger, blue-haired Scrooge.
"Would you like to dance?" Syaoran said to Eriol, smiling horribly, and woodenly let the boy take him in his arms.
"I hate being the girl," Syaoran mumbled, even as his face reddened due to their closeness.
"You're beautiful," Eriol whispered in Syaoran's ear, and twirled him around. "Blossomed into full womanhood. I can see why Scrooge fell in love with you."
"Shut up," Syaoran said, quietly stepping on Eriol's feet, and it is to Eriol's acting credit that he didn't react visibly.

"Syaoran-kun, you did really well!" Sakura said admiringly as Syaoran's heart dropped into his feet. Yes, the play had been a success, and had raised enough money for a good Christmas party, but he hadn't thought that Daidouji would have brought the video to the party. And a large projector. And the intent to embarrass him fully.
"Erm," Syaoran said, and stiffened as a familiar boy came up from behind and rested his hand possessively on Syaoran's waist.
"He played a good fiancee, didn't he, Sakura-chan?" Eriol said. Syaoran turned and glared at the other boy, who didn't seem to get the hint and returned his glare with a smile.
"Let go of me," Syaoran muttered through clenched teeth, the warmth of Eriol's hand distracting and annoying.
"Of course," Eriol said smoothly, and offered his hand to Sakura. "Shall we see if there is music planned for this venture? I could dance with you as well."
"Sure!" Sakura said, and Syaoran watched them walk away, full of helpless rage and confusion. He followed after Eriol and Sakura, trying to be casual while making sure that Eriol's hand didn't go anywhere else dangerous. Eriol was clearly aware of the game, mischief in his eyes, and Sakura was of course clueless.
Tomoyo looked over from her place with the camera, taking in the scene, and she smiled.
"Merry Christmas!" she called cheerfully to her friends as they passed through the doorway. "Did you see the mistletoe?"
Slowly the three looked up at the cheery greenery tacked to the doorframe, and both Syaoran and Sakura blushed.
"Three at once," Eriol said, appearing to think hard. "I went through first, so I guess I'll have to kiss you both!"
He looked much too pleased by the idea, and Syaoran was preparing to flee when Yamazaki popped up, Chiharu in tow. He gave her an affectionate peck on the forehead and said, "Did you know about mistletoe?"
While Eriol was distracted, Syaoran slunk away, and after a little while Tomoyo and Sakura joined him at the punch bowl.
"Did you know that mistletoe used to be hung on everyone's doorway, and that you had to marry the first person you kissed?" Sakura said, looking worried. Syaoran looked worried too.
"Did you kiss him?" he blurted out. She shook her head.
"Should I have?"
"No!" Syaoran said instinctively. He blushed heavily.
"Do you want-- that is, if you'd like to, maybe-- do you want to dance?" he said, finding his courage as the music began to play. Sakura smiled.
"I'd love to," she said, and she let him lead her by the hand onto the floor. The lights dimmed a little, and Syaoran felt awkward holding her, but he was happy.
Maybe the play had been worth it, after all.
