because i've been missing a rant or two nowadays.

just got home from work overtime-all-you-can again tonight ( it's now 23:47 here ).

the project i'm coordinating right now is this |<---->| short to being blown to smithereens. major problems keep popping up everywhere, and now, we're pooling us much manpower as possible just to get the project done on time. everyone is pulling hands from all over our section, even from other groups. what used to be a 4-man project team is now working on double that, with an additional two being prepped up.

so this whole fiasco leaves me with this: i have to develop an extension ( somewhat on my own, at least for while ) for an existing application. this would provide key functionality for the said application's next stable release slated this august.

what really kicks this fact home is that i have to accomplish in more or less three weeks ( from scratch, virtually ) what a colleague finished in the span of three months. and thus, the overtime. ( in japanese, we call it "ZANGYOU HOUDAI", or overtime-all-you-can :p ) that's like, one week per project phase. which is cutting it a bit tight, for programming standards.

not to mention that i'm two spans short of vomiting blood from all the japanese i have to use when communicating with japanese teammates ( who are not-so-english-capable ). but, at least that's practice. Abe-sensei back in the Philippines would be proud of how my ears have become attuned to japanese. but that's not the point.

but anyway, it's okay, i guess. i honestly think the work is do-able. impossible, but do-able, as Sean Connery once said. it's just that, it's time like this that i most wish i was back home.

anyway, to get my mind off the work, been trying to create an itenerary for my department mates for the remaining time we have left on business trip. we only have about seven weeks left, and everyone wants to go someplace, so we decided on plotting it on schedule so that it's more organized, and so that there's a greater chance that we travel in large groups.

forgive the spelling at times. i tend to forget japanese syllables.
