I look into her tearful eyes as she says this, my soul screaming inside me She's right. Stay here in her arms. Let the world save itself this time. Only we both know that if I don't leave, there won't be a next time.
Gently, I raise a hand and catch a teardrop as it falls from her lovely lashes. I lean in and softly kiss her. "I'll return. Wait for me."
"I'm not moving until you come back," she whispers against cheek.
I turn, holding her hand as long as I can until I finally walk far enough away I can no longer keep her in my grasp. I never look back.
