Ok, so surgery is only 1 week away. I'm really scared now. I mean, I KNOW that I have a fabulous surgeon, but there's STILL a high risk! I'm still going to do this. I'm NOT going to let the fear stop me ( Read more... )

I have no shame... I'm thinking that either the double gown will work, or I'll rock a moo moo... you're right, I won't want anything near my waste. And I'm gonna wear my slipons to the hospital so that I can walk around the floor with them. :-)

The contacts are a good idea. While they won't let you wear them the day of the surgery or in the recovery room, you can put them in later. I had old glasses, too, and they gave me a major headache. Putting the contacts in was like heaven ( ... )

Yeah, I can't wear my glasses, they make me sick because they're so old! I'm going to take them out just before they wheel me away. Then I'll probably not put them back in until Tuesday, but I'll definitly need them :-)

OOOH, that's a really good idea!! I was going to add the saltines to the list, but I wasn't sure(carbs and all), but I should have some on hand just in case I'm nauseous too... one mushy one should help me :-D. And the tuna melt sounds GOOD!! LOL :-)

I'm so excited :-D

They made me hand my glasses over to my mom right when they wanted me to walk to the OR (yes, I walked myself in, hopped up on the operating table, hehe... no wheeling for me). It kinda helped b/c, not being able to see, I couldn't see any scary looking instruments lying around. LOL

In the beginning, I found that crackers/pretzels were the only thing that helped me feel good after a meal. I'd eat as much protein/veg as I could stand... but then I'd still feel not entirely full and have maybe a cracker or pretzel or two. It honestly feels good to chew and to have something a little bulky in the tummy.
