Oh my gosh, this has to be one of the cutest entries I've ever read.
The part about the headphones falling out of your ears, and, then you grinning while listening to your Rutter Gloria (I do that sometimes, when I listen to songs on my iPod. I'll even laugh sometimes. Then, I wonder what people are thinking...) they both made me laugh.
I hope you keep on feeling happy, and that the goodly-fashioned humorousness continues; because, you deserve it times a million.
hehe, I have to be honest, I was actually so excited to post an entry on LJ just because I love receiving your comments! I also knew that you'd appreciate my stories hehe :).
And thanks -- I hope I keep feeling happy, too (haha, does that even have to be said? lol, that was a kind of stupid comment for me to make)...things have been so topsy-turvy, but somehow I always find a way to be happy without even trying. I'm finding more and more that there are lots of things to be happy about, and sometimes the smallest things are the best...like getting a letter in the mail, having one of my favorite songs come on when my iPod is on shuffle, having someone smile at me, seeing animals lol... I hope you're doing well and are happy, too -- don't forget that I'm always thinking about you!!
Love you! Can't wait to see you soon! (22 days :D 'til I'm in Michigan!)
You make my heart so happy, Sarah. I cold totally picture you smiling after seeing the cute boy and your earphones falling out. ^_^ And thanks for posting that youtube thing of the Rutter Gloria. I completely forgot what the third movement sounded like, so when I go home for lunch I'll listen to it. :) Oh! By any chance do you have the Barber "Angus Dei"? Both vocals and strings? I realllly want to listen to both versions, because they're AMAZING. I love you! And I'm going to reply to your comment on facebook, I promise. :P
Aww, Lou! Thanks for the comment! It's so good hearing from you, and you totally made me smile :).
I *do* have the Barber Agnus Dei/Adagio for Strings...and I have like *the* versions lol -- the best ones ;). I can either give them to you on a cd sometime, or I could probably e-mail them to you or something -- whichever you'd prefer. They ARE amazing, so I'll try to get them to you ASAP. I do have some other amazing chorale music, though, so I'll have to make you a cd sometime :).
Wow. I am in love with Gloria. I love Rutter. This is amazing. I'm in a choral group and now i'm gonna try to pursuede the conductor/director to do this. We've done a Rutter before. "Go Forth Into the World" It's more of a choral piece. But this one... wow.
That's awesome! I'm glad you like it -- my high school choir did all three movements one year, and it was so amazing (I mean, not necessarily our performance of it lol, but it was so amazing to sing them). You can find the 1st and 2nd movements on Youtube, too, if you haven't already watched/listened to them (I highly recommend listening to them -- I absolutely *love* the 2nd movement as well...the first one is okay, but not my favorite).
Good luck with persuading your director! Let me know if you end up singing it! Also, if you end up listening to the other movements, let me know what you think of those, too :). I love talking about music.
I don't think I've heard "Go Forth Into the World" before -- I'll definitely be looking it up, though, because I love Rutter, too :).
