When we got our dog, we tried for shelter and rescue dogs, but not one of the six in our area that we checked out would even consider us because we didn't have two years worth of a vet record. We got Belle from a store. The next two will most likely be rescues, but sometimes, it's just not possible to get pets from shelters and rescues.
