there are things that leave their mark, like a negative on your mind, like the negative bird in the window, the negative laughter of somebody who's gone. the negative of a little boy whose problems most likely come from his too-young mother and all her un-love. and the negatives make you sad, to look at, not like pictures, distorted and wrong.
