I think that is one of the best balloons I've ever seen!
Glad that CO has a somewhat ok tolerance to bears, unlike other parts of the country that would have just shot the bear. When we were living in AK, and the bears would venture down into the towns, everyone just kinda left them alone. It seemed like everyone around there, respected the fact that the bears, were there first, and no one seemed to get overly excited or hyped up about the bears making an appearance.
Windi, I love that balloon, too. Very fun design. Makes me want one just like it!
Colorado has a "two strike" law, the second time a bear is caught breaking into a home, they get put down. In downtown Aspen, 90% of the people walking around are tourists, hence the excitement over the "mall" bears. I don't think the mall bears got a strike against them for being in the mall, they were just doing what bears do and didn't bother any trash or people.
Everyone seems to be in favor of bears being left alone, except for a couple of renegade idiots who have shot bears this summer. One guy is being prosecuted, the other bear shooter has not been found.
Hi Caren how are you? It appears you've completely taken to being a CO local! I've been so busy painting for my one-woman-show coming up in November.
I've been viewing these images because the bear in the tree cracks me me lol I sure miss the balloons since i used to live in Albuquerque. October is balloon fest. With you being so well traveled I bet you've been to one of those in NM.
