myene_01and I thought I'd be fun to do Remus/Severus/Jason through the holidays and here's my Autumnal Equinox story (which is a set up for our Halloween story). I know all you guys are not as into this pairing as we are (I knoe original characters are evil) but I love him. It gives me an excuse to add blatantly American elements to my stories. ;-)
Title: Autumanl Equinox
Characters: Remus, Jason
Rating: G
Remus trudged through the blustery streets of Hogsmeade, rubbing his hands to keep them warm. Even though it was only the autumnal equinox there was already a chill in the air. He was just heading over to the Three Broomsticks for some hot cocoa (with a dash of Ogden’s perhaps), when he was bowled over by some over-zealous students rushing past him to get into Honeydukes.
“Oh sorry, Professor Lupin!” called the eager third year as he raced towards the sweetshop door.
“No worries, Joseph, don’t give yourself a tummy ache!” he shouted back. He chuckled as the kids wrenched open the heavy door and scurried inside.
As the door swung shut he caught sight of Professor Cox inside the shop and decided to go in and say hi. Remus shook his head as he walked towards Honeydukes. He still couldn’t get used to the thinking of Agent Jason Cox of the United States Muggle Protection Agency as Professor Cox, teacher of American Studies at Hogwarts. But Minister of Magic Percy Weasley wanted to strengthen relations with the American Wizards, so here he was.
Severus wasn’t too happy about the appointment. Jason may be good to add occasional flavor to their relationship but that didn’t mean that Headmaster Snape wanted him around permanently.
Entering the sweetshop he smiled at his friend and said, “Hello Jason.”
“Hey Remus,” Jason grinned, “I’d shake your hand, man, but my arms are full of goodies at the moment.”
“What are you doing? Buying out the store?”
“Naw, I just thought I’d get a jump on Halloween. I mean with all these trick or treaters I need to stock up.”
“Oh, but we don’t trick or treat here.”
“What? You’re kidding!”
“Nope, we just have a feast up at the school.”
“What’s fun about that? Aw, man. We need to get something going. Let’s talk to Severus. Maybe we can do something special this year. Let the kid’s come down to Hogsmeade and get some candy. It’ll be a blast!”
“Well, I don’t know…”
“C’mon Remus, don’t be an old stick in the mud! Where’s your sense of adventure!”
“Sure then, why not?”
“Good, let’s go tell Severus. Maybe you can add some ‘special persuasion’ and I can watch.”
“You’re a bad man, Professor Cox.”
“You’ve been telling me that for years, Professor Lupin."
