today i logged into my personal myspace account for some reason (i don't even know why it's there -- i haven't even attempted to befriend anyone), and i got this message from someone named "george":

Hi there :)

My name is George; I just noticed your picture on a friend of mine's "Friends"-list and wanted to ask you if you are a model. I am working for one of the biggest talent management companies, Impact, and would like to invite you to join us (if you'd be interested in modeling, of course).

It's for real, and I will not ask you to pay anything to join us - it's a great chance to get some modeling jobs, and it's free to sign up - no tricks or anything - you've got absolutely nothing to loose. Our website is www.impactww.com - go there and you'll see.

If you decide to join us, here is my talent scout ID that you would need to register: MLPE3033. Since I am recommending you, you would be getting full benefits on the long run, and possibly a free photo shoot too. Our company is still working on the benefits package, so at this moment I can't really tell you exactly what they would be, but they will be really cool.

Here is my personal email if you want to ask me any questions: nygeorge@intaxity.com. If I know you'd be interested I will explain you how everything works - in details.

George

of course my first reaction was "motherfucker, you can't scam me." i browsed their website which, although it looked a little low-rent, didn't have any of the "you pay us, we'll make you famous!" red flags. but just the fishiness of a myspace message combined with the fugliness of the "models" on their website made me want to investigate. and i came up with this: http://www.easybackgroundcheck.biz/impact210.html

what IS IT with crazy people on myspace thinking i'll fall for anything? thank goodness my momma raised me on Dateline NBC.
