Talk about Crappy

A coworker at work, My favorite if I had to pick, had the worst Christmas ever. I wont go into all the details, but her dad threw everything she owned (cash, credit, purse, ALL OF HER CHRISTMAS PRESENTS, clothes, so on and so forth into his furnace (which is still a fireplace type of deal). And then wound up being hauled away to jail. For trying to ( Read more... )

It's very nice of you to do this for her.

It sounds like she could use a lot more help, though. I'd have her check with this organization: Modest Needs helps people out who have short-term emergency needs. If she's lost all her stuff they may help her get some basics, soon.

She also may qualify for some kind of emergency public assistance or be covered by some kind of insurance (does she rent? where did this take place? if in a home or apartment or business the incident may be covered by some kind of insurance). I'd have her check with First Call for help to see if they have more specific ideas.

I apreciate the thought, but I don't think that they would help.

(Which 'they'?) Why do you think so? That's what Modest Needs does. That's what insurance companies are for, and that's what social safety nets like public assistance are there for.

I tried 3 times to donate and all 3 times I received error messages or just plain not getting connected.
Please reply to me with a working link as I do not read your blog.

The donate button appears to be broken; you could simply post the email address to send funds to via Paypal if you don't spy an obvious way to fix the button; I could also troubleshoot it if need be. It looks like it might be having trouble with the encrypted link, you could try generating a button without using the encryption.

I redid it without the encryption. Thanks. I missed that part in the button making process the other night. I was ...kinda out of it I guess. Trying to do something and not really knowing what to do.

Fixed now. Thanks for the help.
