I have been wondering how my ex boss Mike was as I haven't seen or heard from him for a long time, not since February. I nearly phoned him on Sunday but then remembered he'd be at church. I finally got around to phoning yesterday morning and as he was out I left a message. He got back to me later suggesting we go out today for lunch. I agreed

You already know that C is a little nutty, so I don't think there's anything wrong with telling her next time "That won't be possible, I had plans today".

I hope you can reschedule with Mike. After the events of the last few weeks, you deserve it.

lol that is such an understatement that it could be British!

I did actually tell her about my other plans but she literally begged me, very nearly cried. I know it was manipulation, yet I couldn't refuse.

I will lunch with him next week.

Mike phoned me last night to check it was OK for next Tuesday. He understood about the neighbour thing as he has been driving elderly neighbours about, for doctors appointments ect for many years. He is a true compasionate Christian, I'm proud to know him. I only hope there is someone to look after him when he needs help, he isnt getting any younger either.
