Yao looked down at his phone after walking out of the shower.
'Alfred? Mall? hmm..' He looked over to his walet and then remembered that it was almost his brothers birthday.
He went to dry his hair off, and grab his keys, left a note, and walked off to the mall.

The mall was not too far off, but it was really bothersome in the sun, and since it's california, it's freaking hot.

Alfred was kind of just lurking around until he saw Yao, but when he does, he wandered out more into the mall's main entrance, slurping noisily from his Dr. Pepper. Good think he's amazing enough to buy himself a drink, even though he would rather that someone else be buying it for him.

"Aha~! Yao!"

He looked over his shoulder to see Alfred. "Ah, Ni hao aru" He said as he stopped walking.

"Wassup? Wanna chill with me or something?"

Of course, he's not that coherent, as he's still sipping at his absolutely delicious Dr. Pepper.

Berwald was nursing his cup of coffee from starbucks when he noticed a familiar boy standing a few meters away. He was clutching at his phone like it had insulted him somehow, and he looked a little intimidated there, which was odd, because Berwald could have sworn he hung out with the 'popular' crowd.

His lips curled into an amused smile, and he wondered whether you should wave. Nej, han antagligen inte kommer känna mig.

[[rotfl metropolis is a shopping centre, right?]]

Ah! Look! Someone he kind of knows!

"Hey, hey, you're that, like, Danish kid, right? You want to come shopping with me?"

Not one to beat around the bush (and not one to care about nationality) when someone could be possibly be saving his life, Alfred's right there, a little red in the face.

And a little desperate.

Raising an eyebrow (and not a little affronted, but hey, at least he almost got it right) Berwald nodded his head in answer to the second question. American's seem fast when it comes to making friends. We've barely met and... shopping? Not wanting to seem, he offered to buy the other a cup of coffee.

"An' m' not fr'm Denmark. S' Sweden."

"Aren't, they, like, the same thing? Whatever. Come shopping with me."

This time it's not a question, since the scary-looking guy responded. Besides, it's not like he'd say no.

...Right?

Francis was just walking by Metropolis, on his way to the nearby art gallery when he noticed the American texting furiously on his cell phone.

A few seconds later, he heard that familiar text message beep. Alfred wants to go shopping? Sounds good. Maybe I can finally buy those newly released sunglasses., he mused.

Without even realizing it, he turned around and headed towards the blond.

"Francis~!"

God, at least he can count on someone to be his friend, even if it's the Frenchman.

"Thanks for coming, I was all terrified that no one was my friend anymore. Was a bad few seconds."

And he's not lying, not at all. maybe exaggerating, but not lying, they're different

"Alfred! Don't worry. The Nation of Love is here to cure all your worries." he replies, smiling.

He flicked his hair for added effect and noticed a few girls swoon. Unable to resist, he sent a few kisses their way.

Looking around the mall, he noticed various shops selling a multitude of items, including one on the third, selling the sunglasses that he wanted; correction - needed. It was to go with the fabulous outfit he made the other day.

He turned back to Alfred and asked, "Mon ami, where to now?"

"I wanna get jeans, 'cause I want my ass to look fabulous and shit. You know."

Alfred noticed the flirting and grinned, putting a hand on Francis's shoulder.

"You gotta teach me how ta do that, sometime."

Just when Kiku was about to take out his manga to read, his cell phone beeped and a chibi Alfred - the chibis vary with the message sender, Kiku had invented that application in his cell phone out of free time - popped out on his screen.

The fun-loving American who just couldn't sit still at home was inviting him to Metropolis, the local mall and Kiku typed a reply "yes" without hesitation. The Japanese teen had wanted to get his hands on the latest Naruto manga and this would be the perfect chance to go out shopping.

Minutes later, he arrived at the grand shopping mall and entered it, feeling the cool air from the air condition blowing on him. Brrr... He should have brought along a jacket as he wasn't used to being cool. Or maybe he could buy a new one?

Whatever, but now, he should go find his buddy, Alfred - but where should he start? The mall was just so big. Kiku was just a tiny dot in that giant shopping center.

A-actually, I think http://community.livejournal.com/carina_high/1522.html#cutid1 so Metro= outside? swingsetjunkie January 11 2011, 00:03:20 UTC
The local burger joint is right outside the mall, which is where Alfred just finished buying himself a Dr. Pepper and small burger. When he walks out, he'll be right in front of the mall entrance. Or, rather, to the left of the mall entrance, but no one cares about the details.

"Oi, Kiku!"

Gah, I'm so not familiar with everything~ ;w; flavorsalt January 11 2011, 00:43:39 UTC
The Japanese lad heard a familiar voice calling his name and turned to look. Ah, there Alfred-kun was!

"Hi," he greeted politely, bowing slightly. He wondered where the fun-loving American would want to shop, and he wondered if there were any of his friends that would be coming too.

"Is anybody else coming?" Kiku asked. If more people showed up, they could have more fun - since it was also a weekend, and Kiku could finally get the latest copy of his favourite manga in the bookshop.

"Dunno. Figured we could walk around until anyone else shows, ya know?"

Alfred immediately heads out to one of his favorite stores- Hot Topic- and tugs Kiku along with him, grinning widely.

Thank God for friends, because without them he'd be cursed to wander the malls alone. And that would suck.

[[I find it pretty amazing that you write in present tense :D I will try to do so also.]]

Gilbert stands on his toes and cranes his neck, but he still can't see any sign of the American anywhere.

Fuck, why is it always me who gets lost in crowds? he asks himself sourly, bottom lip protruding out ever-so-slightly.

He sucks in a deep breath and climbs onto a nearby cafe chair, feeling oh-so-clever and triumphant once he manages to balance on the chair's arm rest.

Kesese, I'm so awesome and smart! Now I'll be able to see over everyone easier, and maybe Alfred will see me too! He ignores the cafe owner's shouting at him to get down.

Shouting.

Gilbert must be around here somewhere, so Alfred heads over to where someone sounds like they're having a conniption.

"Aha, Gil, get down from there or you'll have to pay for something."

But he's glad he's here, all the same.

"FOUND YOU!" Gilbert screams triumphantly. He jumps down from the armrest in one large swoop and swiftly puts the cafe owner into a headlock and noogies him.

Pause.
Alfred smells ...funny. He usually doesn't smell... funny, does he?

Gilbert looks down at the person he is currently torturing holding, expecting a shock of blonde locks, and instead getting a balding, middle-aged, sweaty, angry man.
He curtly pushes the man away, ignoring the man's i'm-going-to-call-security look and grins toothily at his friend. "...I meant to do that. (I totally didn't mistake him for you, you know?"

"Jackass."

Alfred starts to walk off, thoroughly miffed. Not really, but he secretly hopes that Gilbert will chase after him. Because that was unacceptable.

he is not a middle-aged man
