theater review: The Scottsboro Boys

aflamingstar and I saw The Scottsboro Boys at the G last night.

Note to self: see every touring show that comes through the G, because the track record (first Brief Encounter, now SB) is amazing.

Seriously... the show was stunning.  It was harsh, and confronting, and desperate.  It made me cry.

Thanks for posting that, JT. I had a teacher my first year of college from Duluth who wrote a book on the lynching. And Mo and I both cried at the memorial that's up there.

That being said, my mom and I are hashing when we're going to see SB at the Guthrie. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ah.
For some reason I remembered it incorrectly.

I DO remember clearly, though, that the story about it was absolutely chilling.
