why use animal products? it's possible(and already done) to make it out of plants. especially a plant like hemp which grows quickly and strongly and RENEWS the soil that it's grown on rather than killing it.

I second this comment. Why animal products? Are there even enough animals being slaughtered to provide enough by-product for such an endeavor? And what about what some of those by-products are already being used for? I should think that there would be better options than either oil or animal.

yeah if we started making plastic from slaughter by products i'm betting that the demands would increase hugely and that there would start being animals slaughtered expressly for the purpose of plastix and then you'd have to figure out what to do with all that leftover meat. shit.

Never mind that the animal agriculture industry is not good for the environment, anyway. How is that a better choice?
