I'm not sure if I liked this movie as much as the others yet...it's so different. Good, but different. I'll have to see it a few more times before I'm certain what exactly was going on at some points and who was on what side.
A few thoughts...
- I'm still not sure about the plot-line surrounding the Flying Dutchman and Davy Jones. It should be that he cut out his heart because he was heartbroken over Calypso/Tia Dalma, but this movie kind of implies the opposite--that he was already captian of TFD and then she broke his heart.
- Have no idea what was happening during the pirate lord council. And who got the piece that Beckett had (that the boy had at the beginning of the movie)? If they had to rescue Jack because they needed his piece to convene the council, then how did they convene without the piece Beckett had?
- On one of my viewings of DMC, I noticed the song that plays while Elizabeth's dress floats to the bottom of the sea is the same that Davy Jones' locket plays. Very nice foreshadowing there.
- I was very sad when Norrington died, but at least he died doing the right thing.
- I loved the ending. Everything full circle. Jack goes out the way he came in.
- And last, but most definitely not least, Will Turner looked really, really hot all dressed up as a pirate. Also, I liked Will's character much more in this film.
