That's great - I am glad your dad is settling in. We're in the thick of it here - the house clearance at the other end will have to take place over the summer.

Brothers are so helpful sometime, aren't they? Fortunately we didn't argue about dividing Dad's stuff either. Not that there was much I wanted, just a couple of ornaments that were actually mine but which had somehow never made it to my own home. Also I took my step-mum's sewing stuff and the crockery. Other than that, I packed up loads of stuff to go the charity shop and picked out a few books for myself. There were two skipful's of junk, but my brother came up with his adult son, so they did the heavy shifting in record time. The rest eventually got left for the new purchase to do what he wanted with. That was part of the quick-sale-at-a-rock-bottom-price-if-you-take-it-like-it-is deal.

I hope that settling back into your own home goes well and that you can sell your Dad's house quickly.

Oh, and I was sure that your Dad would settle in, once he just got over the surprise of the move. I'm so glad that he is finding things to enjoy.
