My glasses and contact lenses suffered a scare this morning as I embarked on a consultation for laser eye surgery. The thought of waking up in the morning and being able to see my wife without my obligatory reach for my glasses was simply miraculous. I did my research. I saved my money. I found a doctor who literally wrote the textbook on Lasik

Oh, man. What a bummer - I'm sorry. My vision isn't as bad as yours, but I still need contacts or glasses to do pretty much everything. My plan is to go down that consultation road when we're done bringing small people into the world, and I have no idea if there's anything beyond normal nearsightedness going on with me. But I know what you mean about that dream of not having to reach for glasses or deal with contacts all the time, and I'm sorry it's been busted for you. :(
