The Hour speculation
Freddie is Lord Elms's illegitimate son.
Evidence:
1. His mother was Lord Elms's secretary;
2. He spent holidays at the Elms house as a child, and seems to have been more or less one of the family, despite the fact that;
3. Lady Elms really really doesn't like him.
Also, I have a gut feeling that if there is a Russian mole, it's probably Lix. I find it nastily plausible that she could have gone commie while covering the Spanish Civil War, and also she's my favorite, which of course means that something awful is going to happen in her vicinity.
