We've been told to use the Sociology guide for our papers for one class. In reading it I realized that it says to leave a three inch margin at the top of the first page. Not being a sociology student, I've never done this before. My question - Do I have to leave that margin even though I think it looks dumb?

yeah, it's APA.

No kidding, I thought MLA was picky, but it's not near as picky as APA. Oh well, it means my paper doesn't have to be so long since it doesn't start at the top of the page.
