Loud music crashed from the speakers, drowning every other voice in the crowded night club.
A man in brown sipped on his drink while directing his gaze to the dance floor. A blonde with the most amazing smile swayed to the beat, celebrating her eighteenth birthday with her friends.
He was so close. Only a few metres kept them apart... but despite the close distance, he still felt a void between them, felt two walls separating him from the one he loved.
He kept watching her dance and thought how in a year she would meet a younger him who told her his ship also travelled in time. He thought about the girl meeting Charles Dickens, Slitheen, Daleks and the Face of Boe. How she would meet aliens, see the stars, different planets and the end of the world. He thought how in two years from now, the blonde girl would see ghosts and vanish forever from his sight.
He wanted to hug her, kiss her, tell her those three words he couldn't say... but instead the man in brown continued to sip on his drink, for once allowing the alcohol to get into his system.
