I ask because the number of people getting out of my place of employment is striking. People "retiring" who are way too young to retire. I'd like to believe they just did really wonderful financial planning and can go out early, but I know enough about our salaries and their lives to know that's just not the case. Just quit the team. I know that won't make sense to most people, but an earlier entry spoke of my frustration, and today I made it official that this is my last year accepting that particular responsibility. I'm still working full time, but that piece and all its aggravation is off my back.
Somehow, I have to find a way to get the adults in this building to remember that it's about the children. I really feel like the voice crying in the wilderness.
I'm back at my desk, dealing with the conversations that distract me, because I've been evicted from the conference room. The admissions office finds it imperative to have 2 juniors answer questions from newly admitted (future) freshman. Apparently, this cannot happen in a classroom. Or the lunch room. Or the library that has been closed all
