O_O

This was lovely and gorgeous and just so...so bittersweet. The way the words flowed effortlessly into each other, and the whole tone of it. And the scenery. ::sighs:: It was really, really quite lovely.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you found the words flowed effortlessly, because writing them sure wasn't effortless for me or my beta, hahahah.

Also, icon love~ ♥

This really very lovely. I love stories that tell about their parents, especially Remus', and this is particularly nice. The language you use is very beautiful, the rhythms and such. I really like Remus' characterization, too--how hesitant he is. Nicely done :D

Aww, thank you so much! I'm glad there are some people who enjoy stories about the Marauders' parents too. I feel like there's a lack of these fics somehow.

I really enjoyed this. You left a lot of clues to Remus' unhappiness over this wedding of his mother's that at first made sense in terms of having lost his father to illness.

This: Remus frowns at “we”, but his mother is closely examining a smaller arrangement and does not see.
And then this: Remus misses Father suddenly, in a brief, wrenching, visceral way that he has not felt in some time.

Then you added the intrigue of the mysterious letter from Sirius to Remus' mother:
Remus unlaces his fingers from his mother’s and moves to take the letter, but the owl jerks its leg back, clicking its beak once with distaste. Then, it extends its leg towards Mother.
Mother reads the letter in silence. There is a single line between her eyes.

(What is she reading, and why will Sirius not show it to him? He does not feel like eating anymore.)Remus is clearly not happy about being kept in the dark, and I myself am curious about what the letter holds. Would Sirius have gone so far as to explain what they are to each other ( ... )

I knew Remus was resistant to this mariage, but tensions between the man himself and Remus are even more apparent: (because of course Remus told him, months ago, as a final act of defiance).

My heart went out to Remus with these two lines because clearly he cannot stand the thought of her with anyone but his now deceased father:There is an orange light on, just dimly, at the master bedroom window. Remus is rolled onto his side so that he does not see it, even from the corner of his eye.
From the direction of the house there comes a voice, faintly. Remus thinks it is his mother’s. He wishes he could stop his ears from hearing and his mind from imagining and feels vaguely miserable.

Here again, you have me thinking that Remus is just missing his father and acknowledging this marriage is just one more way to let go of him and Remus doesn't want that: The voice again, louder this time. It is definitely his mother. Remus bites his lip and tries hard to not think unreasonable, petty, jealous thoughts about his stepfather. She deserves ( ... )

Aww, I am ecstatic that you got so much out of this piece! Your interpretation has actually made me realize that there are a few more layers to this fic than even I could see. A reader like you is every author's dream~♥

As a matter of fact, I think you have Remus' mum pegged better than I ever did. She does seem the type to latch on to anyone she can for comfort after losing John, whom I imagine was the love of her life. How many stepfathers, indeed!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have been a wonderful inspiration, and I finally feel like I'm up to writing that R/S Big Bang fic now. :)
