This was so delightful! :DDD I absolutely love the Browning poem (which I read because of the Stephen King books which I'd totally highly recommend, but that's not the point XD and I really love what you did with this. They were totally themselves even with the change setting, and I loved how you used canon details in here (ie Samuel Campbell being an idiot. Also thanks for making John awesome. XD), and how they were each other's true love and how in the end they both got promoted. They so deserved it. Also that bit where Dean revives Castiel was just awesome. (also I can't get over the awesomeness of Dean, Castiel and Dark Tower in the same fic, but then again. I have an obsession with anything saying Dark Tower. XD) I so loved it! :D
I'll have to read that series because I've heard good things about it :D I like to try and maintain character as much as possible even though it's AU, so I'm pleased you felt they were still in character. I love the Browning poem too--I very nearly didn't put in the whole thing with the Tower at all, wanting it to be just about Dean's journey, very much like the poem. Then I realised it was DC everafter and that wouldn't have fitted with the need for a happy ending, ha! Thanks for reading!
I'm probably the only person on earth that didn't care for the Dark Towers by SK. I read the first one, and just... This, however, I like quite a lot! The narrative style is appropriate, and Dean still sounds like Dean, the bad guy is vanquished, and they get their happy ending. cheers!
Thanks! I've never read any of the Dark Tower books myself, but I absolutely adore the Robert Browning poem so I think I've got high expectations of the books that possibly won't be met. Ah well.
I tried really hard to keep Dean as 'Dean' throughout this, so I'm really glad you thought it worked. It's hard sometimes with AUs to know how much liberty you can take with a character before they become unrecognisable. I'm glad it hasn't happened here!
I really enjoyed this! Anything where Dean has a sword and Cas needs saving just does it for me lol. But this was great; captivating and well written and I loved the ending. <3 They should always live happily ever after!
I hoped the drama was a nice balance to the romance (and vice versa) I didn't want it to be too schmoopy, although I do love my schmoop! Thanks for reading!
