No offense, really, but I just don't understand people who have pets.
Ok, I know that just because I am not an animal person doesn't mean I have to run down people that are.
For a lot of people their pet is their best / only friend.
I really am thinking about the pets when I say this.
I just don't understand why humans think they have the right to "own

I think that if you really knew pets, you'd know that it's the pets that own their people, not the other way around. Goodness knows my life revolves around them, not the other way around.

And anyways, it's a slippery slope comparing animals and people. If you're going to make that comparison for this, then it should apply to everything and I'm not sure that society should go there. (How about the people that want to marry their dog? Well, dogs are people too and should be treated with the same rights as people... ummmm, yeah, sure. Let's get them on our health insurance while we're at it, 'cause goodness knows that stuff doesn't cost enough already!)

Anyways, to each their own, but you're right... Since you're not an animal person, it doesn't mean that you have the right to run down people that are.

We have health insurance for our pets. I wouldn't marry them, though.
