Nah, this is the shit we come up with when we are together. Maybe took about 5 minutes of combined brain power time between the three of us. *lol*

Though he did forget to mention the Faux dorks. Those who seem to "hang on" the the fringe.

We aren't saying that it is a bad thing... we are simply illuminating that every thing is relative.

I'm one of those "reallllly dorky people." I LARP in costume at least twice a month. I wear Ren-garb and go to Faires. I go to cons and I dress in costume there. I've helped run panels. I've been one of the dorks with extra badges there because my friends run security. I can talk for hours about comics and I have a collection of action figures. My friends and I are all dorks, geeks, and nerds. We talk about computers, gaming, faire, fighting with weapons, how to make the best liquor, and other things too, like religion, politics, and current events.

So, I guess you are a better dork than me, but I'm ok with that. I tend to see the whole "hierarchy" thing as someone's excuse to seperate themselves from being a nerd, dork, or geek. If you can sit and have a conversation with me about any of the things that I'm into that fall under the "dork" umbrella, then you aren't any different from me.

Its not really about better than... carnifex72 July 9 2007, 02:37:36 UTC
It was intended as an observation. You can see it in action at places like wondercon or other trekkie/star wars/comic fan events. I think its interesting, from a sociological point of view, that even "dorks", or nerds, or whatever label you apply the rules of clicks still seem to apply.

I agree that a person should be in touch with themselves, and proud of their interests no matter what anyone thinks.
