The White House website states that Obama will pass the Matthew Shepard Act. Not only that, but it lists this under the 'Civil Rights' section of his agenda.

ETA: HOLY SHIT I SCROLLED DOWN AND THERE IS AN ENTIRE SECTION OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS PAGE DEDICATED TO "SUPPORT FOR THE LGBT COMMUNITY."

Oh FINALLY America, you're making me proud. <3 You hear Obama's also planning to do stuff towards re-distributing state funds (or something) to include certain stem-cell research groups; wiping out Guantanemo bay and bringing in registration to ban anything that could be deemed as torture, and... something else I forgot. Anyway, I was pleased to see it in the Times the other day.

I KNOW! OBAMAAAAAA! I almst cried a bunch of times today. I want to watch video of the speech (I was at work when it was happening), and I know I'll cry when I do.

I knew that I voted for the right guy. Sure I disappointed my father, but who the fuck cares? We now have a guy who can make well informed decisions in the white house, and I'm proud to call him my president.
