Anyone going to Carnivale this year?

I'm finally going! My husband, mother, & stepfather arrive on 14 February. We're going to 2 costume events so far -- hot chocolate at Caffe Lavena on Tuesday the 17th & the Dolce Vita Ball on Thursday the 19th (my birthday :-).

Love to hear other ppl's plans, perhaps meet up...

Oh my!!!
We were supposed to be there last year... as a present for all the trouble for moving again in the US. To tell you how close I was to go, 2 months ago, we losted our travel agency's deposit =^(

Trystan,
A group of six of us from Seattle are going! We're sharing an apartment in San Marco not far from the (possibly open, possibly closed) Fortuny Museum. We all arrive at different times, but my husband and I are the last to arrive, and will get there on the 20th and depart the following Friday. No plans to attend any balls, mainly going to explore, do tourist stuff, and people-watch at the free events.

How wonderful to celebrate your birthday in Venice!

We had a wonderful time! We kept saying, "next time..." so now we're thinking about how many years we'll have to save up in order to go again.

I've been posting links to photos and other stuff about our group's trip here. Site still a work in progress, lots more photos yet to upload in the "More Photos" area.

We've also been scanning Flikr and YouTube and other venues for other photos, possibly even of us (we know we're in a lot of Other People's Vacation Photos). And Trystan, I'm loving the ones you've posted! Drooling especially over the Atelier closeups...

I just got back Thursday (we spent time in the UK after Venice), so I'm sloooowly putting up pix. Just at day two now :-) We were so exhausted after the first week, it's a wonder we could make it thru the rest of a 3 week trip!

Wasn't Carnevale magical? I can totally see why ppl go again & again! No idea when I can go another time, but this won't be the last...

Your photos are awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. Such a pity you lost your hat tho.
