I feel slightly bad for commenting so late on this, especially since you went out of your way to tell me that you written it and where you were going to post it. Goes to show how much I actually check lj.
I've always been a fan of your work, especially Remus and Tonks because you have a way of capturing the two and finding perfect moments for them to be them. Even if one of them is being a bit of an idiot. Regardless another great little piece from you and being inspired by music seems to have given this a tone that really works well, like you can almost hear the music playing faintly in the background or something.
Thank you! I'm sorry, I didn't want to make you feel like you had an obligation to read it immediately. I was just feeling pumped to have written it.
I'm glad you like my R/T fabric. I've probably written something for every stage of their relationship that I've imagined, but I hadn't, up til now, gone into the actual biography. So I was really glad to do that.
I'm glad you liked the music side of it too, it has been an idea in my head for a long time.
And this is beautiful. I love the way it feels suspended in time while Tonks is thinking about what she's done -- I was holding my breath, waiting for Remus's reaction just as Tonks must have been. I also like the way she thinks about feeling the night, using her senses to feel where Remus is just as she does when she's on Auror duty. And this may be my favorite part of all: I think, not for the first time, that I love the whole of him, not just the idea I have him, not just the side of himself that he shows me
Her love is just so palpable here. Beautifully done.
Thank you so much! I really liked the moment as soon as I read it in the biography. How it must have felt for Tonks to just snap that she loved him. So I am glad I could pull off a decent fanfic about it. :)
And speaking of which, I am really glad you like that line. Now that I'm Tonks's age myself I compare myself with her, and I wonder if she spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of person Remus was, what history he had, what she might understand about him and what not. But loving him passionately with that.

Great to hear from you - and to read this. Being in Tonks's head works so well here: I love the descriptions of the night, how she's feeling, and how Remus responds in turn. My favourite part is the explanation of Something in the Air, but the whole piece is lovely.

I love the whole idea of atmosphere and tension as a thing and there must have been atmosphere in spades between R/T in those early days. :)
