Well, this weekend was eventful! I decided it was time to leave the big city for a while and spend some time with family in Aurora, Ontario. This weekend, for some reason, felt like more than two days ( Read more... )

" You have no idea how much pain I am in"

Oh I do, a week ago, I had blisters on my upper back and shoulders from sunburn :(

Eeeeeeee. Not good. :-x Luckily I did not blister. I just peeled. I just hate that I actually put tons of sunscreen on and I still burn. That is totally not fair!

I didn't put on sunscreen, sadly. I don't normally burn, but I've learnt my lesson. Nearly completely healed now, but god the first 4-5 days were awful. I don't tend to sleep lying on my front and it hurt to sleep on my back or sides :(

i also find it really interesting to see how people live simpler lives, not attached to cellphones, internet, fashion trends and all the other things we occupy ourselves with most of the time. something about it is really beautiful, you know? how much more you connect with people, when you're fully present and not distracted by other things. how much better we'd be at looking people in the eye, spending time with them because we're not off to be on the computer or watching tv or drinking amount of alcohol to be able to interact with other people.

i'm glad you go to go out and explore, it sounds like a cool experience.. sorry to see you got burned. that's why when its sunny outside i'm always in a hat and an indian cotton shirt.. i burn easily too. and summer in israel is like.. may to october.

i really like your glass necklaces! i have a little collection of those, different ones but also handmade. they are just so beautiful.

I agree. There is something about simplistic living that is really beautiful. I remember I used to be so against cell phones, but now that I own one, I am constantly texting (more so than calling). It has become an extension of my hand, haha. But yes, when you are not distracted by such things, you connect on a deeper level and I appreciate when I can do that with people... even if it is less often that I would like.

I look so stupid in hats but I really should wear one when I go out for that long, I know. :\ Wow, is the summer there really that long?! I could not imagine. I hate summer. Heh. Well, I shouldn't say that. I hate high heat and humidity and very bright sun (because I am so sensitive to all three). I like summer days with a bit less sun and a bit of a breeze. :P Fall is my favourite season.

I hope your sunburn heals as quickly as can sweetie. : ( *crosses fingers for you* ♥ I am so glad that you got the chance to explore and experience more of Canada with your family, it sounded like a great trip. I also enjoy learning how other people live and seeing the world through their eyes, it really is an eye-opening experience. Thank you for sharing your story with us, hun. *huge, huge hugs & much, much love* : ) ♥ Also, I have to say that jewelry is truly stunning! *thumbs up* : ) ♥

The sunburn has been healing, slowly but surely. It was very painful for about five days but I have stopped screaming in the shower now. Haha. (Even warm water burned.) And I started peeling but that has stopped too, so I think I am pretty much good to go again. It is still bright red though, which is weird.

It was a very nice trip indeed, thank you. :) It is definitely eye-opening when you get to see the world through different eyes. I always find it neat how we are all living on the same planet but living in completely different ways.

And thanks for the comment on the jewelry! I love lampwork and really wish I knew how to do it myself. I was thinking of going to a craft store to get some supplies and see if I could somehow learn to make my own. :)

I *love* the St. Jacobs Farmer's Market. LOVE LOVE LOVE. So many amazing things, baked items, etc, etc. It's my second favourite farmer's market that I've ever been to (first is Powell River, BC).

That sucks about your sunburn, though. :( I hope you get through it without too many headaches and blisters!

Yes, they have so much there. I loved it. :) When I go to BC I will have to look into that one! I really like farmers' markets but I tend to like going on weekdays instead so there is a bit less of a crowd.

No blisters and I think the peeling has finally subsided. Haha. So thank you. It was freaking painful for about five days but I can shower without screaming now, so it's all good. :P

Eeeeeeeeee! Thank you SO MUCH for thinking of me and giving me the link! :D I absolutely loved the video and that song--being the pure sex that it is--was totally fitting. Voo Doo is my favourite song of Adam's thus far. It is so hot.

I think I am going to start re-watching Season 1 tonight. That fanvid had so many scenes from the first season that I miss.
