"A Little Friendly Whatever" (Prompt: puzzle; Daniel, Sam, offscreen Sam/Jack; PG)nandamaiMarch 13 2009, 20:43:46 UTC
Daniel didn't get it. The cutthroat competitions over crossword puzzles, chess, Scrabble, mini golf -- he'd been sure, once, that it was all just sublimated foreplay. But they were together now (thank god; the years of flirting that they thought were subtle really weren't), so what was the point

HEE! Love that Sam cheats (of course!), and Sam and Jack taunting each other with their choice of puzzles, and Daniel wanting more elbow run, and him not really "getting" Sam and Jack's relationship.
"in the slipstream" (Prompt: telephone calls; Sam/Jack; post-Unending; PG)poohmusingsMarch 13 2009, 23:17:34 UTC
"So. Fifty years, huh?"
Sam paused in the middle of sorting through her mail and smirked. She'd only been half listening to Jack -- yes, that was very Bad Girlfriend of her, but she was okay with that -- yet she immediately knew his not-as-clever-as-he-liked-to-believe-it-was leading question would require her full attention.
Wedging her cell phone between her ear and shoulder, Sam swung her feet up onto her couch so she could untie her shoes. She had a feeling she'd want to be comfortable for the ensuing conversation.
"Fifty years," she repeated, mindful to keep her voice even.
"That's a lot of years."
"Sure is." She could tell he was trying to get her to veer their conversation down a certain path, but there was no way she was going to comply. At least not without some fun first

Hahahaha! Oh, I heart this so much. So funny, voices dead on, and awesome phrasing in many places. I particularly like "Sam lurched upright on the couch." Heee. And Jack yelping, but then getting her good in the end. You've really got to be on your toes to be involved with Jack O'Neill.

Oh this was just hysterical. From how Sam knows what he wants and is playing with him to her very true observation of him being immature (so hot!) and he got her back in the end because she was so preoccupied with having her own fun.
She'd had her mail forwarded to Daniel while she was away. He recycled everything that could be recycled and filtered the rest, sending letters to her in Atlantis and anything that had to be dealt with to Jack in Washington. Then he brought what was left to her house along with pizza, and SG1, on her first night home

*dies* Would it be evil to say you should continue having your novel problem if it means you'll continue producing these killer commentfics?
Normally, they stampeded through her head at night when she couldn't sleep, along with things like the B she'd gotten in high school physics and the many innocent plants that had been sacrificed to her job since she'd joined the SGC.

I adore haunted Carter. And the fact that Jack found out... never going to live that down.
