So....today marks the one-year anniversary of the war with Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom, the first phase of disarmament of the Iraqi regime, etc. etc. etc. Where were you then? i'm a canadian, and i was in florida when the war started. it was weird, because there was such bad feeling towards canadians at the time, with us not supporting the war. we were worried about having to leave early, or having our flight delayed on the way back. How do I feel now? I'm still against the war, and still support our then-Prime Minister, (unlike our new one, who was all for the war.) Sorry if I offend anyone with my views.
It hasn't really done anything to me. Except maybe in my politics class last year, where instead of learning my teacher just told us his opinion on the war every day for the entire semester.
Thanks for letting me share!

I felt the same way when all this "war talk" started. At first, I really wanted to be gungho about the antiwar part, b/c it seemed obvious. But then it was a lot more complicated than that. Saddam was a bad guy, yes, but was it right to go kick him out? especially when that money could be used other places? but then what about the Iraqi people? IT MADE MY HEAD HURT! I often kept quiet b/c i really had no opinion, despite the fact that many of my friends were very anti-war. And, being in a parochial school, there were the people quoting the Bible and examining just war theories. It got nuts after a while, b/c I guess I see both sides too easily. I'd consider myself more of a liberal thinker...I can tell you stories about that, but that's later...anyway ( ... )
