That poem simply does not work for me. I don't even see a readily identifiable pattern to the lines, which is normally a somewhat poor but still redeeming feature of modern poetry. I'm having a hard time making sense of the line breaks, too. What makes me sad is that very good descriptions such that could be used in prose, but are instead forced into 'poetic' form.
But, I guess, few people think like me any more. To me, poetry should at the very least rhyme, and the sign of a skilled poet is one who can naturally rhyme without it sounding forced.

I couldn't agree more about Heartland, though. What a stunningly beautiful song! And I made Edge a birthday icon! ... or at least an icon of Edge on his birthday ... yeah, that counts! Happy birthday to the Edge of the world!

I totally 100% agree with you about Heartland. That, to me, is one of the most amazing songs that they've ever made, thanks to Edge's amazing talents. It slays me that - to my knowledge anyway - it was never played live. :/ Alas.
