I am currently:

filling out an application for an English teaching program in France (some of the application is in French, reminding me that I'm not quite fluent yet, and spurring me on to make that final leap)

watching the travel channel (Anthony Bourdain is in Sicily right now)

sipping some wine

eating delicious pizza

and smiling

I'm taking a course through Oxford Seminars. It's a 3-weekend course, and it costs $1,000 (minus $50 if you sign up with a friend, and minus another $100 if you sign up 4 weeks before the course begins or earlier). It's a great course, well-known, and they have a job placement assistant dealie. They have a lot of connections with schools abroad, and they'll do what they can to help get you a job somewhere.

The trick is not the certification course, but getting into the country you want. Apparently the EU is pretty difficult to get into. Getting certified will help, but you might wanna Google what you can about teaching English abroad, and you'll find tons of message boards of advice and different ways to get into it.

but check out www.oxfordseminars.com. Let me know if you sign up for the course or find another way to get into it. I'll have to come visit you from France!
