Now I see where you get your sense of humor! And what is it with you Englishmen and mushy peas??? I do like fish and chips myself, though, although I've never had the English version.

It simply isn't a real fish supper without mushy peas. It really is the best way to eat peas; after being well and truly beaten into submission. I have always found the garden pea to be a most impertinent vegetable. Who hasn't committed that common faux-pas of launching an uncooperative pea across the table in an honest attempt to spear it with one's fork? Generally speaking, I prefer my food to have negligible ballistic properties.
