first downtime
Today is the first day without something official to do...So I had a doctor's appointment, did some errands, and went for lunch to Hanabishi. It was wonderful to discover that Miyoko who used to own it is back serving on Tuesdays at lunch. We had a lovely catch up visit, and she sends her best to Shauna, Rosie and Rick. a bow on the semester
We made it. Tomorrow is the last day of finals week, and Saturday will be graduation. I know at least 30 people graduating on Saturday, and am excited for them all. They range in age from 20 to 40 something, and some are the first in their families to get a college degree of any kind ( Read more... ) -
put your money where your mind is
I just sent in my annual 60.00 membership to KQED. I feel good when I do this...however tiresome Pledge Drives are. I listen to NPR for information, for the chance to think, ponder, wonder and imagine. I did not pledge regularly until about 8 years ago...after what NPR considers the usual amount of time 'freeloading.' Now I feel glad to be able to ( Read more... ) -
winding down the semester
The last week of classes is next week, then final exams. Our lab practical is given the last week of class to allow the students the full 3 hours...which few need but it reduces stress to know they can have it ( Read more... )
