All I could think about was that one random conversation we had on twitter about how Noah would be so insecure and paranoid when they got back together, and how Luke would be kinda oblivious at first because things are going so smoothly, and he doesn't realize it until Noah flat out PANICS ( ... )

Wow, so you have to know this is incredible, right? Right? Just making sure. Because really.

Most endgame short stories I've read (or heck, written) have the boys reuniting in triumph after overcoming their obstacles. I like that you've reversed that, and shown them as having been back together for awhile, while still having things to address and repair between them. And Noah's trying so damn hard to be perfect - I mean, stab my heart a bit more, would ya?

Because that is classic Noah - trying to be what he thinks the other person wants to hang onto their love. Of course, in the case of his father, that love absolutely was conditional. Even though Noah's in therapy now, having lost Luke before, I can totally see him falling back to that habit. Thank God things came to a head and Luke was able to reassure him that Stepford!Noah isn't what he wants at all ( ... )

Ha, Sara is/was a huge huge fan of Aaron and Jackson. And they really got a crap deal at the end there. And very heartbreaking. And if we know one thing, it's how to turn crap into fic!

And also heartbreaking- I would bet Noah still doesn't really believe in unconditional love. Everything with his dad, and then how things happened with Luke, he's probably got all KINDS of messed up notions about deserving love, etc etc. Luckily Luke's probably the most stubborn person on the planet. He'll get it sorted out, I'm sure.

Thank you!!

This is kind of perfect, Ella. You made me tear up when Luke spied on Noah w/Jackson and kind of a little before that too, with their "fight-thing."

And then in a different way here:
He reached down and tugged on Noah’s sleeve, sliding his palm down to link their fingers together. “I want to go home with you.”

And then the very mature (but with boyish jibes - "You smell" made me smile maybe a bit too much!) talk between them and the 'baby' and the tummy rubbing and the hugging and the forever. *happy sigh*

He felt Noah’s heartbeat against his chest, and he felt his trying to escape. And it all felt kinda perfect.
Yeah, exactly. ♥

Yay, thanks Ronnie!! I totally love writing arguments and fight-things between the guys. It's just... fun, in a weird/writer way. The angst was totally my favorite thing to write ;) Shock, I know.

Thank you so much!! :)

“He was one of a kind,” Luke hedged, smiling politely now. Tom was still laughing when Luke glanced back at the doorway... and saw Noah staring back at him.

My first thought at that part was "ohhhh, snap! Shit just got real!" Seriously though, that's JUST the sort of soap opera-ish scenes that would have played out so well on the show. Misunderstandings and overheard conversations and our boys being so silly because they just want to make each other happy but are going about it all wrong!

This so feels like something that would totally have happened if the show had continued, and that is awesome. Only, just to bring the dramaz, they probably would have had Luke be all super jealous of Jackson and there'd be a whole side plot about that and the whole thing would take like 9 months to unfold uber slowly. So really? This is much better. ;)

ohymgosh. no lie. I was kinda maybe planning on- if I'd had the time and ambition- to add a bit about Luke being suspicious/jealous of Jackson. Just a little thought of it. A comment. Because he totally would :P But yeah, no worries- story would NOT have been 9 months long.

Other than that, yes yes. :P Thank you!!

Wow! I really hope you write us another long series one day because I adore the emotion you put into all of your fics.

It stands to reason that Noah, who's come from a life of trying to be perfect for his father, would resort to the same behaviour in his attempt to hold onto Luke.

And poor Luke in the meantime simply wants Noah to be Noah...

But we know that they have learnt enough from their past to be able to weather any storm.

Beautiful fic as always!

oh man, I reeeeally want to write another long story! I do. I'm trying to plan/outline one now, but it's been hard for some reason! But hopefully soon. Thank you! :)

I wrote this for Sara for her gift-fic because of a conversation we had about this- how Noah would be so scared when they got back together and try to be perfect and not cause any trouble and Luke wouldn't realize it at first... and then this!

Thank you so much!!
