Fic: Sway (Brotherhood III, Megan/Victoria, PG)

Aug 21, 2004 12:13

This is sort of a precursor to the Megan/Victoria universe which is currently underway. As-yet-untitled, but I'll think of something to call it before archiving. It's not much, but considering I haven't written anything in a week, it's a start. More fic later, if any of my boys want to cooperate.

Sometimes she thinks about what it would be like if she ran the game. And here's where she proves what a girl she is, because if it was her on the headset instead of Lex, there would be a lot more romance.

She knows for a fact that Lex isn't opposed to romance - much as he likes to pretend he is - but according to him it doesn't have any place in his game. His game, like they're not the ones doing all the work. But she keeps playing anyway because it's kind of fun to pretend to be someone else for awhile, and she even recruited Roger because if her character couldn't have any romance, she was damn well going to try to create some for herself.

Only she should have chosen more carefully, because Roger's fucking Lex now. And if they're not fucking they're well on their way; she's not blind, and unlike Megan she sees the way Lex and Roger look at each other. Because Lex is careful, but Roger isn't, and there have been enough little touches and uncharacteristic softness in Lex's expression to let her know exactly what's going on.

Which means she supplied a little romance to the game, but Lex isn't the type to let her watch, so it still doesn't do her any good. And the rest of her prospects…well. There's Stan, who's sweet in that way that would make most girls feel like they were kissing their brother. So as much as it sucks to be Stan, Victoria wouldn't go there any more than Megan would. Mike and Tony are out, because when they're not arguing about whether Judas Priest rocks more than Black Sabbath she's pretty sure they're making out.

Then there's Kip, who's wanted Lex for maybe longer than even Megan, and why is it that all her guy friends are gay? She's not sure when that happened, but she can't even blame it on them because she went and hand-picked the only gay guy on the football team and handed him over to Lex like some kind of offering.

So all the guys are out, and that leaves her and Megan. Megan who she doesn't really hang out with outside of the game, Megan who tries so hard to be exactly what Lex wants, only she probably never counted on him wanting the one thing she couldn't be. Megan who looks really good in those fishnet goth wannabe stockings of hers, just a little trashy but kind of sweet at the same time, and it's not like Victoria's never noticed before.

She has, she just hasn't done anything about it, because Megan's been hung up on Lex for as long as Victoria's known her. And she's always wondered if Megan really is into the brooding teen angst thing, or if she just gets off on Lex's power. If maybe Megan would be just as devoted to someone else if they were the one calling all the shots.

If Victoria ran the game there would be romance. And she wouldn't hide out in the library like some freak in an ivory tower the way Lex does; no, she'd play, put herself in the mix and take her chances with the rest of them. She'd weave a story where the elf princess pursues the Amazon queen, pushing Megan until she saw just how far Megan was willing to go in the name of the game.

Up against the wall, out in the hallway where any of the guys could see, kissing Megan the way she's probably dreamed a million times that Lex would kiss her. Only Lex could never give Megan what she really wants, but Victoria can. She can kiss Megan the way she wants to be kissed, thigh pressed between Megan's legs until she's shaking with need and she wouldn't even care that it was Victoria giving her what she's been dreaming about. Maybe she'd even like it better that way; maybe she just needs to be shown exactly what she's wanted all this time.

It could add a whole new dimension to the game. They're not freshmen anymore, after all, and their Friday nights could use a little more excitement than the same old tired battles. Maybe she could even convince Lex to write it into the next game. After all, he still owes her for Roger.
