I am subverting my depression over my singleness by writing the most romantic fic ever! It's kind of gross, but it's working.

Oh, this was just so sweet. And I really do think Jack would have loved "I love the way you take care of us," because Hodgins really does seem to want a family and to make the people he loves happy, and I just...yes. This was lovely.

He would! The major problem with Angela was that she never needed him, and he needs to be needed. That's what he liked about Zack; Zack relied on his opinion and his life experience. So Wendell needing him would make Jack feel secure, which would make their relationship stronger. Or something.

Whatever! ::rolls around in the cuteness some more::

Exactly. He wanted to be needed, and Angela didn't want to be tied down. He was constantly bouncing around trying to make sure he didn't step over one of the lines that couldn't be crossed with her. I just watched the aborted wedding one, and that scene where he rushed to ask her father for her hand in marriage really struck me. He was trying to respect her dad, but the gesture was ruined by the knowledge that Angela would kill them if she found out. Plus, in watching it, it seems like he's more in love with her than she is with him...or perhaps it's just that her issues keep her from expressing her love as easily as Jack can. I don't know.

Anyway. I definitely agree that Jack would feel content knowing that Wendell needs him and is happy to accept what Jack wants to do for him. Part of what makes them so cute and lovely is that there aren't all those issues lying between them, so they are free to be happy and adorable.

Yes! Angela always made him feel like she was too good for him, and I hated her for it. She acted like he was winning some prize, when really she should have been thanking her lucky stars he even looked her way.

And that whole thing with her father was just stupid. I know it was supposed to explain why she's so out there, but it was lame.

Awwwwww! I couldn't even pick these guys out in a lineup, but I love this fic. It (and them) makes me love Valentine's Day a little more than I already do, which is a lot considering it's just some dumb commercial holiday that's invented to make money.

Yay, Caroline!

It actually has a long and storied history! It wasn't invented just for the money, I swear!

(Why I feel the need to defend Valentine's Day when I don't even *have* a valentine is totally beyond me.)
