TGI...Thursday.
My oldest nephew has arrived for the summer. (Technically he is my step-nephew, if you are new around here, but there's not a lot of DNA linking us to begin with in this family, so we don't split hairs. Also, I am his favorite, so.) Anyway, now that's he's fourteen, he's old enough to work at his father's McDonalds, which he is doing mostly so he can afford to pay for the cell phone my sister and brother-in-law finally let him have.
Guess who has been texting me like a crazy person since yesterday?
I don't really mind. Much. So far. Tomorrow my New Every Two comes up on Verizon. I suspect I will mind less when I have a shiny new phone to play with.
In less cool nephew news, we have a tradition of going to see the Harry Potter movies together, which started with the second movie when he was just a wee, seven-year-old pre-nephew (they were just engaged then). It was our first activity together. He was very shy in those days, but we've been fast friends for years now and I was looking forward to upholding the tradition this summer.
Alas, I will be in the Twin Cities when the movie comes out, and by the time I get home he'll be gone. He won't even be here for my birthday this year. None of them will! My whole family is ditching me to go to Florida in July, which is the worst time of year to go to Florida. It's a good thing I don't eat cake anymore or I'd be pissed.
Anyway! Last day of the work week and I am planning to do as little as possible today, which is where you come in. I'm still taking comment fic requests here (or here, I'm not picky), if you missed out yesterday. I have more to write yet, but I will post a round-up of what I've done so far, mostly for my own convenience:
Joxer/Ares with a side of Cupid, Stupid Cupidverse, for theamusedone

CSI, Nick/Greg, humidity, Part One

And, of course, the BWOC fic that started as a comment fic and then got out of control:

Still to be written are Wendell/Hodgins, Kerr/Fehr (I actually have an old request using the exact same prompt started in Google Docs, so I am toying with revisiting it or starting over on this one), and some Criminal Minds gen, I guess, though I get the impression that is not what the requestor was looking for.
I could make a whole apologetic post about Criminal Minds and why I choose not to participate actively in that fandom, but I won't, because really, who cares? I am an OTP girl and it is a polyamorous fandom, and that's okay. It's just not a good fit for me, as it turns out. Doesn't mean I don't intend to write Morgan/Reid ever again. I'm just lazy.
Tomorrow I have to wrangle my cats into the carrier bright and early and bring them both to the vet. Two years on and T.K. still won't even let me pick her up, so it should be interesting. If I never post again, you can safely assume I died in a pool of my own blood.
