Doctor Who: Journey's End

1) Mickey! With a big gun! That he kisses!

2) Jackie with a gun!

3) German Daleks! (though I am so sick of the daleks. Talk about an overused enemy).

4) Germany! (though I was disappointed to discover that my German is rustier than I thought; I didn't catch a lot of it)

5) the Jack/Mickey reunion! Almost enough to make me slash them.

6) Super!Timelord!Donna! Catherine Tate did that so well. So calmly and coolly flipping switches, rattling off technobabble with an attitude, and messing with the daleks.

7) The crowded TARDIS! Being flown properly!

8) All the hugging! Donna finally got to hug Jack!

1) Rose (and I thought they handled her rather well in Turn Left, so this was a shame. She did get a little better, like when she complimented Martha)

2) Rose/Doctor

3) Rose being so ridiculously needy that they were building a machine to return her to her original world. (are you sensing a theme here?)

4) Davros and his not terribly interesting plan to destroy everything.

5) The Doctor (original) being so very predictable, inviting Davros along, offering to save him.

6) Donna's ending. More on that below.

1) The Rose/Doctor ending. I'd been spoiled for it, and had been pretty pissed about it. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I suppose it was a pragmatic solution, giving Rose the Doctor who would stay with her and give her what she needed, but it still seemed wrong. Just exchange the Doctor for a better model.

Except for the last 10 minutes, it was pretty good. But I can't forgive RTD for what he did to Donna. She was one of the most awesome companions ever, and to wipe her memory of everything, never to be reminded, is just so wrong. I am so pissed. So, like with other shows where I have not liked the ending (see Enterprise, Atlantis), I have decided that never happened. Donna, either part Time Lord or plain old human, is still travelling with the Doctor, being as awesome as always.
