What's funnier than changing your name from Jacques to Frantz? Being named Croissant!

I searched Facebook for other Carolyns and found someone named Carolyn Croissant. I think it's hilarious. Wouldn't that be awful to always have to tell people, "Yeah, Croissant... like the food"?

That's my sister in law. No joke. LJ is dreams_of_wings? Lives in Boston? I am married to her brother, Theron Croissant.

That's also why I didn't change my last name - I refuse to be a pastry. ;-) You have no idea how many times Theron has had to say, "Yes, that's really my name."

Incidentally, she is changing her name in May when she gets married. She says it's for relationship/family solidarity purposes. I've always secretly wondered, but I don't ask.

LOL!!! Yes, it says she went to Tufts. It's just four T stops away from me! That is amazing. I too made a name choice based on name strangeness. I was sick of everyone mispronouncing my name, so I changed it. My hardcore feminist friends think I sold out. I think I had the opportunity of a lifetime! So what if hostesses at restaurant write down "France"? At least I only have to say it once!

Just two nights ago I was looking at a car in someones garage, and introduced myself to him..."Leer...like the jet?"
