So I'm so excited today because I just randomly remembered about the existence of WEEKI WACHEE SPRINGS in Florida, the weird old mermaid roadside attraction that was huge in the 50s and 60s, that MS JOI BROZEK roodly told me about only just after I last returned from Florida a couple years ago, causing me much grief and sadness as you might imagine ( Read more... )

Let's get liquored up with the mermaids and then go swimming with them! Yee ha partner! It was billed to me as a mermaid strip club, but I can see no evidence of that thus far. Humph.

I have INDEED been to Weeki Wachee! I went when I was 13--on my 1st trip to Florida...it's all that my aunt & uncle could TALK ABOUT! I thought the mermaids were pretty cool. I did like it better than Disney World!
