I'm surprised by how much I dislike emergency medicine. It's not even the attendings, because most of them are really nice and they teach a lot. first of all I liked this post..but I am wondering why you had to do a pelvic for just a UTI? Was she having other problems?..or is that just the protocol there?

just in general you do it because the symptoms can be similar I guess, and probably because she came into the ER. You probably wouldn't do it if she came to her PCP's office.
